College Ball - Week 10.

The University of Tennessee Volunteers lost to LSU.

I felt this coming - As bad as I hate to admit it, Tennessee has been over-ranked all season. They won by one point against the unranked Air Force team early on, followed that with a one point loss to Florida and struggled to win against both Alabama and South Carolina. Now Ainge, for all his faults - the best thing they have, is taped up like a mummy and limping around the sidelines...

Suffice it to say, their luck finally ran out.

It's just as well, that loss to Florida just about did it for me anyway.

First ranked Ohio got a little scare from Illinois before pulling out a win and so did #2 Michigan against Ball State. Continuing this theme, Vandy scored 13 points in the fourth quarter to give Florida pause to think before choking on the rally and losing 25-19...

BUT, I still have my mighty Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders. Wow! Go big Blue...

MT beat Florida Atlantic 35-14 to improve to 5&3 overall and 4&0 in the Sunbelt conference!

MTSU is still top ranked in the Sunbelt and has the best conference numbers since they went 8&0 in the old Ohio Valley Conference in 1992...

LSU is better than people think. And if UT can keep their players from getting drunk after the game and getting in fights, they are pretty good too.

Of course, UF now needs to readjust due to our pot smoking defensive lineman who refused to go to drug education classes and got kicked off the team.

Anyway...I think the records of teams in the SEC don't really reflect how good they are. Let's face it, when you play 10 games against SEC opponents, coming out unscathed is nearly impossible. UT is not so far off the mark, and considering where they were last year, you kind of have to be happy with this year. I'll still put LSU, Auburn, UT, UF, UA up against any other team in the country.

I'll stop pontificating now...

Yeah J, Da Bears - sad.

Pontificate away, LP (interesting choice of words there). And yeah, I'm happy that they're doing better than last year but like you said the SEC is tough! I guess that's why we like it so much...

Well, Art, it is like my grandpa told me: A bad day in the SEC is still better than a good day in PAC-10!
